What we delivered
For Hamapula Farm, we designed and installed a 747.84 kWp ground-mounted solar plant built from 1,216 Jinko 615 W panels, arranged across 19 tables in 76 strings, to power the irrigation pumps at Pump Station 2. The system pairs four 110 kW hybrid solar drives — each dedicated to a 90 kW pump — with four Sigenergy PV 100M0-HYB hybrid inverters, running the pumps directly on solar during daylight and switching seamlessly to grid supply when generation is insufficient.
The plant is built for operational flexibility, using a DC changeover system that directs solar power either to the pumps or, when they are idle, to the grid-tied inverters. This lets the system power other farm loads and export surplus energy to the grid through net metering, offsetting electricity bills — and during the off-season, the whole plant can run as a fully grid-tied solar farm exporting all it generates.
Our solution ensures solar energy is always prioritised for Hamapula Farm — whether driving the pumps, supplying farm loads, or exporting to the grid — delivering reliable, cost-effective irrigation power while reducing energy costs and integrating cleanly with the farm's existing infrastructure.
