Jaco Mpongwe
What we delivered
For Jaco Mpongwe, we designed and installed a 982 kWp hybrid solar plant built from 1,584 Jinko 620 W panels, arranged in 88 strings and feeding nine Sigenergy PV 110M1-HYB hybrid inverters. The system is paired with a 1,080 kWh battery bank made up of 90 Sigenergy SigenStack 12.0 modules, alongside nine matching charge controllers, creating a robust hybrid power plant.
The plant operates as a grid-tied hybrid system, supplying the farm's load while exporting surplus energy to the utility. A Sigen Gateway C1200-B coordinates the whole system — providing automatic backup switching that shifts loads to battery power instantly during grid outages, full energy management, and cloud-based monitoring and control. The site is also provisioned for generator integration to add a further layer of backup.
Our solution gives Jaco Mpongwe reliable, renewable power with seamless outage protection, reducing grid dependence while allowing the farm to earn value from exported energy and maintain full visibility over its energy use.
